I have to say the craziest thing about Florida is the weather. Rain or shine it’s just plain hot. And the clouds come and go so quickly. So I feel like I had a taste of it all while there shooting Courtney and Chris’s wedding. I couldn’t have asked for a lovlier 100th wedding and end to my 2017 wedding season. We started the day out bright and early at the Fort Lauderdale Temple taking some family formals and couple shots before hand. Then while the couple was married, Jordan and I were able to slip into the temple ourselves and be patrons there. We made sure to exit before Courtney & Chris’s grand exit, which was accompanied by rainy skies (making me super glad we’d taken so many shots before hand). But the rain didn’t seem to slow anyone down. They’d come prepared with umbrellas for all. After the temple we were treated to a yummy Italian lunch and then a little break in the day before heading to their prefectly decorated reception at a local church building. The gym had been transformed and the catering was spot on. Sliders, a fun mac and cheese bar and then a complete dessert spread treated guests all night long. The couple played the “shoe” game which was new to me but something I’d love to watch again. The couple are seated back to back and hold one of each of their shoes in their hand. They’re then asked fun questions and have to answer with either the bride or grooms shoe. Of course the laughter comes when different shoes are held up and their true thoughts are made known. Right down to the sparkler exit Jordan was able to assist me and I’m so grateful because my body hasn’t handled this pregnancy with quite as much finesse as the others. I mean, really it’s treated me well, but let’s just say Vivie is feeling like the turkey baby she’s due to be. I know I’ve said it before and sound like a broken record but I’m just SO, SO grateful for all of the amazing clients I’ve have over this past decade. I can’t even believe the incredible journey I’ve had with photography. I’ve been able to do and see so much. And I’m excited to see what the future, post-maternity break holds. Until then, this is me signing off with client sessions for the next while. Stay tuned for nursery decor, yummy newborn pictures by the fabulous Heather Picket Photography and hopefully updated family pictures once life settles down next year. The future is bright. Now it’s time to enjoy “the wait” as I mentally prepare to deliver Vivienne. Send me good baby vibes and let’s just all pray she comes before December!
