Katie and Mason both served in the Yekaterinburg Russia mission, which is the same mission my husband Jordan served in! And as some of your remember, while Jordan was serving I taught English in Moscow for a semester so I could send him letters through the Russian mail! Needless to say, these two’s love story holds a special place in my heart. I wish we could’ve just zipped over to Russia to shoot these engagements, but we settled for what little snow we could find up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Had we shot last week it would’ve looked full on Russia, but yesterday’s high of 70 felt a little out of place with their Russian coats on. And by that I mean they were full on sweating in them. Normally I’m encouraging my winter clients to think warm thoughts but it was the opposite yesterday. However, this is me NOT complaining about the sun. It was simply gorgeous aside from the fur being a bit too warm. This is a favorite location of mine and fit this session perfectly. I’m looking forward to their spring wedding and blacktie session but for now I wanted to share these Russian lovers and their session at Storm Mountain, my first one back from maternity leave! It couldn’t have been more perfect…though I admit I did miss my littles a little!
