It’s been just over two weeks since these two celebrated their wedding day, and already life crept in and put a damper on their honeymoon stage, but I love that they have already learned to look for the positive, the secret to a happy and successful life in my book. Lydia shared the following sentiments on Instagram:
“Not everyone ends up with a severe injury, emergency surgery, and a stay in the ICU a week and a half into marriage… But for some reason it is part of our story. Colby and I feel so BLESSED. The type of neck injury he has suffered usually results in paralysis, but this boy had angels protecting him and we are so grateful!! We have been surrounded and overwhelmed with love and support and we appreciate it so much! Colby has been my biggest strength with his optimism and ability to keep such a good perspective. I love this man so incredibly much! Life is full of unexpected bumps and turns, but with them all, I am just so happy I get to spend eternity with my love.”
Colby was injured playing football for BYU and I’m sure now faces an entirely different school year then he’d planned. But I’m grateful that these two were able to be sealed together forever, so no matter where life takes them, they don’t have to spend eternity, or the semester of rehabilitation that now faces them alone. Life is better, whether during an up or down, with your best friend at your side. Hope these wedding memories brighten you day Lydia & Colby!!
