Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen Photography bio picture

Liz

I am many things to many people, but beneath the labels, I am simply one who creates.

Even professionally, I won't be separated from my family.

I love waking up to the soft spoken "mommy" of a happy toddler.

I love living.

My mind never stops racing because it's happily fueled by passion.

I've always loved my husband. Always.

I am only one, but that's just enough.

the madness

I didn’t have any shoots this week, so I’ve been able to take care of a few other projects I’ve needed to get done and it feels great. I really feel so happy lately, and trust me, it’s not because of the cold weather and our winter gas bills (YUCK!!!) I swear that I’ve cleaned my office almost everyday this week, and it still looks like this. Mr. Potato Head has body parts in almost every room. And our cat Emmy has decided that she’s an indoor feline, so we’re working on teaching her the appropriate places to implant her claws. I’m also working on teaching Ella the appropriate places to “kuh-lee” as she calls it, namely not in my planner, journal, her books, the wall, the dominos… and the list goes on and on. So if you’re wondering if I have your wedding date available, I am too ;)

But on the bright side of things, I received my “gallery” book today from Blurb. I thought it would be nice to have a printed copy of all the images on my website for reference when doing consultations, and just to have in a hand held tangible form. So this bad boy holds 480 images on 440 pages and only cost me $75.00 to produce. I read a ton of bad reviews on the quality, but decided it was worth it for the price anyway. And I think since I was expecting the worst I was pleasently surprised. The book definitely does not lay flat. It’s a bit of a struggle to even keep it open. But I figured as much and just went with one image per page to avoid any falling into the gutter. It’s the perfect little pocket portfolio. Definitely note professional quality or something I would ever sale. But it will serve its purpose just nicely I think.

The other bright side of this week is the year pass we bought to Discovery Gateway. I took Ella there yesterday for the first time and we both fell in love. It’s the perfect winter playground and has so many fun little areas to explore. We were so excited about our trip during the day, we took Jordan back when he got home. And there’s something about just spending good quality family time together that I’m eating up. Even though I miss shooting some weeks, I’m so grateful for time as a normal mom/wife/friend as well.
