somewhere new

I’ve shot Kelsey before, but this time it was for real. She’s getting married in a few weeks and I can’t wait! Having shot her sister’s wedding a few years ago, I’m already in love with her family. They totally know how to party which is perfect because a wedding should be a celebration.

Kelsey wasn’t sure where she wanted to take her bridals. We racked our brains for somewhere new. Then I had an idea… How about this place? It turns out the staging company for this house, Red Door Utah, is one of my clients. I’ve shot many of the house they’ve staged for this past season of Flip Men. (I think I’ll share some of their beautiful work in an upcoming post!) Not wanting to intrude on the owner of this home, we limited our shooting to the main living room/staircase area (and the random dance studio…we couldn’t resist) but I love the simplicity of the location and how it really lets Kelsey shine.

March 6, 2012 - 10:23 am Jenny - The first outdoor shot you posted in this post is exquisite. I don't use that word often. But you captured your bride so well within the environment. I think having a grand house is fun, but this post clearly shows that location can only play into a image to a certain point and degree. You have nailed the craft of photography so of course finding new locations is probably more fun for you than the actual client. But that shot owns no location and that is what makes it so beautiful, it's of the bride. I would say other images portray her as well, but something about that first shot. But as I combed through this post. My mind is directly taken back to that image. It resonate a lof emotion to me. Emotions that were created because you understand the craft. I hope that is making sense and I'm conveying my words properly. good job as always.

February 29, 2012 - 10:54 am The Jordan - Can we get a house with a dance studio one day? Great pictures Liz!
