Little William Weatherford Touchstone Clayton III, aka Chief, was born on 09.09.09 at 9:00 in the evening. How cool is that! We know his parents from our time at Yale where daddy Will Clayton was working on his law degree (Dad met mom, Sarah, just after she finished working in the white house). Well they’re now slacking off in CA working on an MBA at Stanford, so pretty much you can see this family is going no where in life…
Anyway, I was super excited when Sarah emailed me to see if I’d be able to shoot their new arrival while they were in town for a few weddings. I knew it would be a bit challenging because Chief would already be beyond the-sleepy-pose-me-any-way-you-want-newborn stage, but I think the session still turned out great. I even got to meet Sarah’s parents as we shot in their beautiful home up Emigration canyon. Even though it was cold, we still slipped outside with the little chief man so I could do what I do best. And I’m glad grandma followed along because the shot of her rocking little chief is one of my favorites! Oh, and if you’re wondering why we took pictures of this little man in a dress…it’s because all of the other Williams have been blessed in this outfit, starting way back before baby’s wore pant suits. What an awesome family heirloom!
