So I know we already wished you a Merry Christmas like a few hours ago, but then we got bored…

I just wanted one happy, looking right at me with those big blue eyes, shot of Hazel because she is such a pleasant soul. But not so much when I want to take her picture. So just before the photoshoot ended she got a call from Santa…it seems in light of her poor picture performance, she’s been moved to the naughty list

Merry Christmas, for reals this time!

Two more days. Can we make it? We’ll see. Ella and I are not the patient type. So it’s been a long month for us. BUT I have enjoyed all the extra snuggle time with my girls. Hazel is walking now, though her stride strongly resembles Frankenstein. And Ella will be four in less than a week. Crazy! So now for a few Christmas shares…

Every year for Christmas we each get a new ornament. The goal is to find one that says something about the year we had. Jordan and I’s ornaments highlight favorite gifts from the year. Ella’s is an ode to her wedding. And Hazel’s, well, let’s just say the girl likes to eat

I almost didn’t send out Christmas cards this year, telling myself no one really cared. But I’ve saved each of our cards every year since we got married, and I’d hate to ruin that tradition so soon (I know one day I’ll cherish all those cards). So, I started racking my brain for an idea worthy of printing, and then it hit me. My recent Temple Square pictures….perfect! I knew this year that I really wanted the card to speak to my personal feelings for Christmas, which are deeply tied to the reason for the season, Jesus Christ. So I turned to this year’s First Presidency Christmas Devotional and found exactly what I was looking for. Here’s how the card turned out. If I had a million dollars I would’ve sent one to all of you as well, because in this instance, pictures don’t do it justice. I love how it all folds together. I printed it with Miller’s Lab. It’s one of their new folded Luxe cards.

I’ve been working on a super amazing year long project and it’s killing me that I can’t post any of the shoots. We started in October, and if things go according to plan, I won’t be blogging any images until 2013. Sigh. But I can show you where we shot yesterday. And wait until you see where we ended up thanks to a kind stranger. And I do mean UP. So incredible! If only I had a few spare million dollars that needed a home, or penthouse rather Ahhh, Temple Square! What is your prettiest season?

I’m thrilled to annouce the launch of my new 2012 wedding website. As usual, it’s full of pretty pictures…but this year, I really wanted the website to go beyond a portfolio, into something that will better serve my future brides as they make the all important decision of their wedding photographer! SO, as you’ll be reminded of on the website, make sure you don’t forget to read the words too. Wedding photography is about more than just the pictures.

Some of my past brides chipped in, participating in a little survey/interview about their experience and thoughts on working with me. It’s one thing to see the pictures a photographer has taken, but I think it’s even better to hear what it’s actually like, from a bride’s perspective, to make those pictures. And I know brides get more advice than they can possibly remember, but I really wanted to share the advice I always find on the tip of my tongue when it comes to getting married. So you’ll find my personal words of wisdom under the Advice tab. I’ve also included a fun little section called Kind Words, where I share some of my all time favorite blog comments. Maybe you were the author of one!

Their is, of course, also a section on my 2012 wedding collection pricing. However, I’ve opted to title it “Investment” because as you’ll hear from my brides, that’s what it truly is. Finding the right wedding photographer should be SO much more than price shopping. Yes, budgets are a reality. But creative budgeting IS possible if you know your priorities as a bride & couple, and invest accordingly.

New for this year, all of my wedding collections now include an album, not just a credit. I’ll be introducing two new lines of albums in December/January: Keepsake & Heiloom albums. The keepsake albums are perfect for the DIY bride, who wants a high quality product, but would rather invest some of her own time and resources to keep costs down. The heirloom albums are my pride and joy, and a little piece of me will go into each one. These albums are stress free, and require little from the bride, other than someone to cherish them forever. You’ll no longer have to worry about what images go into them, or how many pages you’ll need. My brides will simply choose the style and cover leathers they’d like, and then presto, a gorgeous, timeless piece of art will be there’s to have and to hold for many generations to come.

As soon as my 2012 album samples arrive & I’m able to properly photograph them, I’ll be adding an additional section on the website to showcase these beautiful pieces of art! It will also include some of my favorite album designs to give you a taste of the insides as well.

Finally, I’m happy to annouce that this year’s website should be more accessible than ever. The entire website is in html format, so no flash player is required. I’ve also added a condensed, mobile version of my website for those accessing it on an iphone/ipod. So even when you’re on the go, I hope you’ll take the time to share my work and your beautiful pictures with friends and strangers you meet

So October about did me in. And today photobucket (where I host my blog images) has decided I’ve exceeded bandwidth. So until it recognizes that I’ve renewed my pro account, this blog is pretty much lame Sorry about that. And until I get caught up with life, I’m pretty much lame SO photobucket and I will check back soon. Lol. I have lots of goodies in the mail to share with you when they arrive (namely next years sample albums!) and some fun shoots I did with my family this fall. Joel & Angie’s wedding is this weekend and I have no doubt it will be fabulous. Anyway, we will return (hopefully my blog images sooner than I…) Happy November. The holidays have arrived!!

Love the temple at night. I grabbed these shots on the way to my car a few weeks ago after shooting Madison & Spencer’s Blacktie session. They’re now Mr. & Mrs. and I’m working on their wedding images as we speak! I’ll be sharing soon…

We went on our first date 10 years ago this month. My life has never been the same since. I love him in the moonlight.
