Of course Amanda and Nate’s wedding day wouldn’t have been complete without a touch of rain for us to shoot in, completing off our trio of rainy sessions. BUT as with the last two shoots, they smiled through it and managed to stay looking fabulous right up until the end. These two had a most relaxing wedding day because they did their open house and wedding dinner the night before. I love when couples make the temple all about the temple. And once we were done shooting they were off to start their honeymoon. Just perfect!

I promised to show a few of the “stairs” outtakes for those kids in attendance, so these next few shots are for you…

What’s the special?

Black Tie sessions in Sept/Oct/Nov are $550 which includes the session fee AND the digital files, PLUS any artist edits I do for the blog. I’ll also include instructions on where to print your images so they’ll still be professional quality, but you won’t have to order them through me. In fact, I won’t even be selling prints this Fall. It’s too much back and forth and I don’t have the time. So this way, we both win. You get access to incredible images, printed anyway/where you like, and I still get to do what I love right up until this baby is born!

What’s a Black Tie session?

Well the results look something like this…

Or in plain English, simply put, a bride and groom or husband and wife all dressed up! So if you wanted me to shoot your wedding this Fall, I still can’t, but I CAN shoot a Black Tie session for you. These will be your favorite images from your wedding. No stress, perfect locations, and you can have them on display at your wedding which I guarantee your guests will rave about. Or, if you have an anniversary coming up, need a reason to see your man in a tux, etc. these are also awesome for married couples, especially if your wedding photos aren’t quite up to par.

We can shoot these sessions where ever you’d like (though I do love the mountains as you’ve seen above), including on the temple grounds (this would be especially great for those of you having a temple wedding since I can’t be there on your wedding day).

Email liz@etfphotography.com or call me at 435.279.7991 to book your Black Tie session. A $250 deposit is required to reserve your session. The remaining $300 is due the day of your session. I am currently booking these for Sept/Oct only. I will update this as my pregnancy progesses and hope to be able to schedule at least a couple November session as well.

Every now and then I’ll shoot a session that I just can’t live without in my permanent album collection. I joke with Jordan that one day I’m going to have a library filled with albums/books I’ve desiged. So today I thought I’d share with you the newest member of my collection: Snow White. Remember her? Talease & Kyle were married at the Maddox Lodge in Brigham City and it was so fun for me to be able to shoot a traditional wedding again. I love the anticipation when getting ready and the excitement of walking down the isle. I loved how happy everyone was to see these two come together and how at peace Talease and Kyle are together. It was SO VERY hot this day, but these two humored me for a few shots in an orchard directly behind the Lodge and I’m so glad they did. I think those few shots are the perfect addition to this otherwise candid collection. Yeah for summer love!

= WEDDING PERFECTION

This shoot was so fun, especially because we were able to get many different vendors involved. These three beauties are sisters! You may recognize the eldest, Nicole. She’s one of my 2009 brides. Nicole & her sisters + mom work at/manage a dress store in Provo, Allyses’s Bridal, so ever since Nicole got married I knew I wanted to shoot her again in some of the stores dresses. When she told me she and Glen were off to Texas for law school soon I figured it was now or never.

SO the girls picked out the dresses from Allyses’s Bridal, the hair & makeup was done by Flavia with Versa Artistry, Studio Stems donated the flowers, Whimsical Headbands added to the pot, and Whimsical owner/designer Jenny Hansen pitched in as my lighting/creative design assistant. (Links to these vendors provided at the end of the post) She totally spoiled me and now I don’t know if I ever want to shoot without her again. I think the collaborative result is stunning. I’m SO very excited about these images. One day I would seriously love to own a formal dress store. I LOVE dresses, getting dressed up, and all that goes with it. I just wish I had a reason to get dressed up again. But I get to live vicariously through my brides, so all is well.

Tomorrow I’m shooting Suzanne & Cameron’s wedding and I can’t wait. After tomorrow I’ve only got two weddings left for the year and then it’s time to start thinking about getting ready for Hazel to join our family.

Yes. This is a shameless plug to get someone to adopt our kittens. It’s a REALLY long story about how we got in the kitten business. But everyone (9 cats/kittens total) has been spayed or neutered, so we’re doing our best to get out of the kitten business and we’ve just got two kittens left! We’ll end up with Emmy, the grandma, her daughters–the two ferel moms, Quinn & Lina, (I’m assuming no one will want these two. But if you know someone who needs some good mousers and doesn’t really care how cuddly the cats are let me know…) and then the two kittens we’re keeping, Onyx & Coal. But Quinton & The Runt still need a home. I seriously can’t feed 7 cats. Being the cat lady at age 25 is ridiculous. SO if you know anyone who would love a playful black kitten, please have them email me, liz@etfphotography.com and well get you hooked up. Pictured above is Quinton. As you can guess, The Runt looks similar, but smaller.

SIGH. Having one cat is thoroughly enjoyable. We LOVE our Emmy Lou. But she came with baggage. LOL. However, take note, these kittens are NEUTERED, so you’re only signing up for one, promise!

And then, just because, I thought I’d post these silly/fun pictures of Ella and I all ready for our family date this week. I love taking the time to get a bit dressed up for a special occasion. Or rather, how getting dressed up and make any occasion special. Nothing like a regular ole’ Tuesday night to create memories. But it works for us.

We went to Chilis, then to a free pipeband concert in the park and finished with a carmel/hot fudge sundae from Letherbys. Now THAT’S living folks!
