As some of you may know, Ella missed having a Christmas birthday by only an hour. And it turns out, having a birthday the day after Christmas isn’t too hot either. I’d always thought about celebrating her half-birthday instead, but never actually decided until now. I’m never going back! It was SO nice to be able to actually plan something fun for her, do summer toy shopping, etc. and not just have it all burried in the Christmas season. Hopefully as she gets older she won’t resent the choice, but I suppose we could always go back. But while I’m in charge, this little girl gets a June birthday just like her mommy. What a fun day we had. She really wanted a pink swimming pool, so we went with that theme for her cupcakes. Grandma got her a real pool which we through all the rubber ducky’s in after finishing our treats. Unfortunately, the water stayed clean about two seconds. Our grass isn’t really grass. So little wet feet coming and going make for some pretty muddy water. Ella could care less… We also got her a little play house. I love to listen to her out my window, sitting in her house chatting on her phone.
We also saved our big baby annoucement for the party. First we had Ella open a present that contained a summer outfit which reads “little sister’s rock”. Then we passed out letters to everyone and had them unscramble them to find out our new daughters name. I loved my dad’s “alternate” guess, just in case it turns out to be a boy… As you can imagine, we much prefer the name we’ve chosen! I can now finally decorate Ella’s room. I’ve been waiting not wanting it to be girly incase she had to share with a brother. But now that I’ve got my two girls together, we’re going to have some fun!
